Beavers is where the Scouting adventure begins for young people aged 6 to 8 years old. Through fun, friendship and exciting experiences, Beavers discover the world around them, learn new skills, build confidence and begin their journey of adventure with 1st Long Itchington Scout Group.
Our programme is packed with fun and discovery, including games, crafts, outdoor activities, nature exploration, teamwork challenges, cooking, visits, community projects and plenty of opportunities to try something new. Every week brings a new adventure, helping Beavers learn, grow and make memories with their friends.
At 1st Long Itchington Beaver Colony, we believe that every young person should have the chance to explore, be creative, try new things and develop confidence in a safe and supportive environment. Whether they’re making their first campfire, exploring the outdoors, completing a challenge badge, working together as a Colony or discovering a new interest, every Beaver is encouraged to have fun, be curious and achieve their best.
This Parent Hub contains everything you need to support your Beaver throughout their Scouting journey, including meeting information, programme updates, uniform guidance, event details, permission forms, badge information and key contacts.
Thank you for being part of our Scouting family — we’re excited to share lots of fun, friendship and unforgettable adventures together! ⚜️

Wearing a Beaver uniform is a wonderful way to show pride in being part of the worldwide Scouting movement. Uniform helps Beavers feel a sense of belonging, teamwork and being part of something special, while the badges they wear tell the story of their achievements, adventures and the new skills they discover along the way.
As Beavers take part in activities, complete challenges and explore new experiences, they will earn badges to sew onto their uniform. Each badge represents something they have learned, achieved or enjoyed during their time in Beavers. The diagram below shows where each badge should be positioned on the Beaver uniform.
If you’re ever unsure where a badge belongs, or need help with uniform, please don’t hesitate to ask one of our leaders — we’re always happy to help make sure Beavers look their best for meetings, events and adventures. ⚜️
